What We Believe: Living Savior Lutheran Church

WE BELIEVE IN THE TRIUNE GOD: FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT

This is the same God that has been confessed by the Christian Church throughout history in the Apostles', the Nicene, and the Athanasian creeds. We confess these same creeds. We see the three persons of the Trinity clearly in the account of Jesus' baptism: "As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on Him.  And a voice from heaven said, 'This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased'" (Matthew 3:16-17).

WE BELIEVE THAT ALL PEOPLE ARE SINFUL BUT THAT GOD SENT HIS SON, JESUS TO SAVE US FROM OUR SINS

Jesus, true God, became a man to take our place and to live a perfect life for us. He also suffered the punishment that our sins deserve by dying on a cross. On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead, giving us the sure hope of heaven. All Scripture centers on God's plan to save us, which centers on Jesus Christ, His only Son. "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." (2 Corinthians 5:21)

WE BELIEVE THAT THE BIBLE IS THE TRUE, COMPLETE, ERRORLESS WORD OF GOD

The Bible is the place where God reveals the truth about our relationship with Him. In it, we see the truth about our sin but also the truth about God's love for us in Jesus. "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16)

WE BELIEVE THAT THESE TRUTHS ARE FOR EVERYONE, NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE OR WHERE YOU ARE FROM

Jesus gave the command to all His disciples, including us, to share this message with everyone. He said, "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20)
